Is the website really free?
Yes. The website costs £0, with no card, no contract and no time limit. Every enquiry is texted to you, free.
How long does it take to build?
About a minute. Type your business name and we build it from your Google listing. It goes live once we've checked the business is yours, using a code we text to your mobile.
What's included in the free website?
A home page with your details and Google reviews, a page for each service you offer, a page for each town you cover, a call button and enquiry form on every page, and every enquiry texted to you.
What if I'm not on Google?
The build reads your Google listing, so you need one first. A Google Business Profile is free to set up, from Google, and once it's live you can build your website.
What does "we check it's yours" mean?
Before your website goes live we text a code to your mobile and check the business is yours. It stops anyone putting a site live in someone else's name, and it takes a minute.
Will my website show up on Google?
Your website gets a page for every service and town you cover, which is what people search for. We can't promise page 1, and nobody honest can, but you'll see every enquiry it brings in.
What's the difference between the free listing and the free website?
The free listing puts your business on the GMTO directory, where local customers search by trade and town. The free website is your own website, built from your Google listing. Both cost £0, and you can have either or both.
How do you make money if it's free?
From extras some owners choose: your own web address for £9 a month and, soon, call tracking for £15 a month. Some pay from £297 a month for us to run everything. We never sell your enquiries or your details.
Do you share my enquiries with other trades?
No. Every enquiry goes to you and nobody else. We never sell or pass on your enquiries.
Can I pay to appear higher?
No. Nobody can pay to rank on the GMTO directory, and that includes you. The order comes from claimed status, real ratings and the business name.
Can I use my own web address?
Yes. For £9 a month we connect a web address in your business name, new or one you already own. It stays in your name, so it goes with you if you ever leave.
What is call tracking?
Call tracking is £15 a month and coming soon. It shows you every call your website brings in. Your free website never depends on it.
I've already got a website, or a web guy. Does that matter?
No. Keep it. We never touch your existing website, web address, email or Google profile, so you can run both and compare.
What happens if I want to stop?
There's no contract and no card, so there's nothing to cancel and nothing to pay. If you bought your own web address, it's in your name and stays yours.
How is this different from Checkatrade?
